THE UNITY: IN HONOUR OF MR. MOSHOOD ABDULRAUFU OYEBANJI


The 2017 (Vol. 7) Magazine of AL-ADABIYYA Alumni Association (THE UNITY), Bayero University, Kano was produced in honour of Mr. Moshood Abdulraufu Oyebanji. According to the Ameer of the association, Ibrahim Sanni Mejendadi, Mr. Moshood Oyebanji is an outstanding personality whose love for unionism, academics and of course social development is unending.

MOSHOOD ABDULRAUFU OYEBANJI
Moshood Oyebanji Oyewole, an indigene of Kwara State was born in Ilorin on 14th, April, 1983. He is a native of Offa and Ilorin of Kwara State. He was born into the Family of Alhaji Abdulraufu Bamidele Oyewole from Offa – a retired Banker and Alhaja Wasilat Romoke Oyewole Nee Lawal from Ilroin – a Professional Nurse.

He spent his early life in Ilorin the State Capital of Kwara State where he attained both Western and Islamic Education between 1987 to 2001 from different schools and Madarasas. He graduated from the Islamic Madarasa at the age of 10 years in 1993 and finished Primary School Education a year later in 1994. He graduated from Federal Government College, Ilorin in the year 2001.

After his Secondary School Education, he secured admission into Usman Danfodio University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a Second Class honour in 2005. He then served in his country under the National Youth Service Corp from September 2006 to September 2007 in Abuja – Federal Capital Territory with the defunct permanent employment due to his outstanding performance and commitment.

In 2007, he was transferred to Kano by the Bank where he continued his career as a Banker. He worked with Access Bank Plc till 2012 and then moved to First City Monument Bank Plc, Kano as the Head Consumer Banking in the North Regional office situated in Kano. Subsequently in December, 2012, he was offered a challenging opportunity to the Lead a Branch of Fidelity Bank Plc as a Branch Leader in the Bayero University, Kano branch where he works till date.

While in Kano, he enrolled and attained a Professional Masters, degree in Business Administration with specialty in Finance and Investment in 2011 and another Master degree in the same Business Administration field but with specialty in Enrepreneurship and Venture Capital in 2014. He has just completed his course work for an award of a Master degree (M.Sc. Economics).

He is the founder of “Moshood Oyebanji Oyewole Foundation” a cause to advance Education in his state “Kwara State” and assist youths to achieve their goals through Academic Scholarships and Grants.

He has since his youthful age been opportune to lead his peers:

  • -         He served as a Class Captain in his days in the Primary School
  • -         A Deputy House Captain and the Muslim Students’ Sociey (MSS) Representative for Peace House in his Secondary School days.
  • -         The President of Junior Chambers of Internation – Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto (Caliphate LOM) – 2005.
  • -         After School, he was also privileged to serve as the City NOM President of Junior Chambers in Kano State in the year 2013.

He has several honors and accolades to his name:

  • -         Award of Excellence – National Association of Nigerian Students “Zone A”
  • -         Merit Award – Northern Nigerian Students Consultative Forum.
  • -         Merit Award – National Association of Kwara State Students’ 2012/2013
  • -         Merit Award – Ilorin Emirate Students’ Union 2012/2013
  • -         Award of Recognition by National Association of Kwara State Students.

Mr. Moshood Abdulraufu Oyebanji is married with 3 kids (Mustapha Ayobami, Ahmad Oyedeji and Yusuf Oyedele) all of the Oyewole Family and lives happily with his Wife – Baliqisu Labisi Oyewole Nee Ismail in Kano.


He is a Muslim, Philanthropist, a Social Mentor, Motivational Orator and a Leader of repute.
