We Are Not Satisfied With Your Service, Community Cries Out To Sen Shaaba

Community members of kuchita area, ward 1, edu local government area of lafiagi, have expressed their dissatisfaction towards the construction of kuchita area, lafiagi township road drainage, phase 1 which was badly and poorly constructed.

Adam sheshi salisu, who provided the photos and the video of the construction to The Media captioned it, “Kuchita area Lafiagi township road drainage, phase 1 was badly and poorly constructed. This is the area where senator muhammed shaaba lafiagi hails from, it’s very unfortunate”.

Speaking to The Media, a resident of the community, Hon. Alhaji Ya Musa Muhammad, said that a monitored team came and was disappointed in the quality of the work delivered.

According to him, “the leader of the monitored team came last week from Abuja, he inspected the project, made a lot of complains that we have earlier made but the workers never adhere to. The phase 1 project construction, a drainage construction of 200 meters was washed away during last raining season. The monitored team that came recorded everything, including measurement of the area and the quality of work delivered, he condemned everything as this could be established from his expression”.

“The supervising engineer that came with them from Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority (LNRBDA), Engr. Bello, was asked series of questions which he could not really answer, he cannot answer successfully because those that came didn’t met what they expected and they were not happy. They told us that the construction doesn’t reach the report they received compared to the amount they collected for the project”, he added.

Musa however, told The Media that there were a lot of complains on the phase two construction also from the monitoring team that came, adding that the workers have packed temporarily, without filling and they are yet to see them hitherto.

“The length of the road is from the emir’s palace down to dambugi stream, that was their statement the first day they came, they measured it, they only did one side and drainage is supposed to be both sides of the road, they suspended the project without reaching the stream, it later became worse than before.

"They never assure us of their return for the completion of the project; complaints for lack of funds surprised the monitoring team and they told us that the money released is enough to complete the project".

Hon. Musa however, appealed to the government to come for the completion of the project as indicated on the paper. “We want the government to come and finish the construction as they said when they came for the drainage that they will fill it and tile it as indicated on the paper. They only completed two third of the drainage construction, not to talk of filling and tiling”.

Also addressing The Media is another member of the community, Jimba Muhammed, who said that they laid a lot of complaints to the workers the moment they started the project but they refused to listen to them and they have left the construction in a bad state.

According to Jimba, “we really tried our best, we started complaining to them since they came, we expressed our dissatisfaction to their service, and they only followed their wish. When the monitoring team came, they told us that they were informed that "the project is completed".

“They did not fill the road, the labourers left the road in an unpleasant state, when we told them that they have not filled it, they replied by saying that theirs is just on drainage.
In his own response, the Senator representing the region (Kwara North), called the community member ingrates in a telephoneconversation with The Media.
