The Director of Socials (DOS), Students' Union Government (SUG), Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Yusuf Haruna Yusuf, a.k.a KIGABOI, invites BUKITES to 1^st SUG EXCURSION scheduled to take place during the University Mid-Semester break for a period of 1 week, 13th March - 19th March, 2017.

THE TRIP: Is an educational trip to Calabar or a field trip excursion by a student to place away from their normal environment in order to gain more knowledge such as:

Ø Provide unique opportunities for learning that are not available with the for walls of a classroom

Ø It help in proper utilization of leisure and developed aesthetic sense

Ø It provide direct source of knowledge and acquaint the student with first-hand information

Function: The excursion committee was purposely set up by the executive council and SRA of the student Union Government Bayero University, Kano organize a field trip to Calabar, Cross River state for student of Bayero University Kano

Target: the target of the committee is to organize a successful excursion trip to Calabar for maximum of 72 students at an average price

The trip is within mid-semester break to spend 7 days, 3 days at University of Calabar Hotel, entertainment visit is Obodu Cattle Ranch, Tinapa Park and Marina Resort Film Cinema House.

Objectives:

Ø Provide valuable qualitative and effective learning experience which will encourage deeper thinking about the interaction between man and his environment

Ø Develop technical competency by observing, collecting, interpreting, recording and evaluating geographic information from primary sources the origin field work.

Ø  Collect specific examples that will substantiate generic explanations of processes and land forms in physical geography.

Ø Draft trip schedule:

Ø Monday 13^th March, 2017

Depart from BUK to Markurdi state university, lunch and pray in Kogi state 3:00-3:30. Diner at open market Benue state 8pm based in Benue.

Tuesday 14^th March, 2017 8:00am Benue to Calabar, Dinner at Bagobiri’s market based in uncial Hotel.

Entertainment visit:

Day 1: Tina Park after breakfast at Bagobiri’s market

·        Pool volley ball

·        5aside football

·        Rap battle

·        Dancing competition

·        Pipeline race

·        eating competition

·        Bikini contest

Day 2: Obudu cattle ranch, leaving by 6am.

Ø Cable to cloud

Ø Cable to castle

Ø Ship race

Day 3: program, theme:-/conference hall Calabar

Ø The Arrival of Hausawa

Ø Slave trade in Calabar

Ø Pray and lunch at bagobiri’s market after mosque

Marina Resort film Cinema house 3:00pm to 6:00pm

Ø Film house

Ø Plat river shoe

Ø Boat race

Then return to UNICAL hotel at 9pm (accommodation).

Saturday 18^th March, 2017 Calabar to Abuja 5am to 8pm based in university, Abuja.

Sunday 19^th March, 2017 to Kano lunch and pray in Kaduna state.

Mission

Ø To create significance to the mental social and educational development of the student and respect to the norms and values of the society shall be overall guiding principal.

Vision

Bayero University, Kano has been lacking social activities of recent, our vision to revitalize and make Bayero University Kano a top shot entertainment institution in Nigeria.  

Feeding: due to the fact that the amount to be paid by each student with be high if feeding is included, the director socials hereby proposed that, the participants should be responsible for their feeding i.e. reserving some token amount.

-Repair buses

-Lectures accommodation

-Student tag and rest

Proposed trip amount: Director Social here by proposed that each student should pay the sum of fifteen thousand naira only N15,000 for the 7days trip to Calabar excursion field trip.

All the contingency set aside in case of increases.

Note: feeding is not part of the proposed amount.

Conclusion:

The drafts were made extensively in view of the Uniben and unical SUG and past experience of the history department.

Expenditure

The trip expanses each student is to pay the sum of fifteen thousand naira only N15,000 for the transportation, accommodation and get fee for the entertainment visit.

1.     Transportation: driver allowance for seven days base on our target for buses is N140,000.

2.     Fuelling of buses to and fro noted: the amount computed based on the current pms price i.e. N145 per litre.

Each bus N70,000 based on our target for the four buses is N280,000.

3.     Accommodation:

Day 1, 13^th March, 2017 vacant hostel in Benue Makurdi state university cost N30,000 including the guards and security for one day.

4.     Tinapa Park (Likeside). N1,000 per Student. (72 Students, our target = N72,000).

5.     Obudu Cattle Ranch. N1,000 per Student. (72 Students, our target = N72,000).

6.     Program: Theme/UNICAL Conference Hall, Calabar.

7.     Marina Resort Film Cinema House. N500 per Student. (72 Students, our target = N36,000).

Day 2, 14^th March, 2017 to 17^th March, 2017 at unical hotel with is 3 days

Note: single bed space per night is N 5,500. Occupied by 4 people per room with 18 rooms, 18 rooms for 3 days are 297,000.

Day 6, 18^th March, 2017 Abuja state university vacant hostel 30,000 guards and security.
